New Jersey Never Bills Anyone Four Times a Year
Reliable registered agent coverage for New Jersey entities. Flat $99/year for the office address, same-day scanning of court papers, and reminders before state deadlines.
Our position stated plainly: Registered Agent NJ.org wrote this page, we are in the same trade as Swyft Filings, our New Jersey agent service costs $99 annually, and we want the order. Swyft's figures are drawn from their published pricing as of July 2026.
What Swyft Filings Gets Right
Swyft has built a formation service that moves. Order flow is uncluttered, turnaround is quick, the packages are legible, and customers who want a company registered without a research project generally get one. For that specific job, plenty of people are satisfied, and the reviews reflect it.
Read the Billing Period Before You Read the Number
Registered agent service at Swyft Filings is advertised at $149. The word doing the work in that sentence is quarterly.
Four billing cycles a year at $149 each comes to roughly $596 annualized. We found no separate first-year rate to soften it.
That is not a hidden fee and nobody is being deceived; the cadence is disclosed. It is a presentation choice, and the effect of the choice is that the annual figure never has to appear on the screen where you decide. So here it is on ours: about $596 a year, against $99.
Lowest anywhere in the state? No. BetterLegal posts $90. Ours sits nine dollars over that published floor, and it does not climb when the renewal comes.
New Jersey Charges Once, or Once a Year
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereLook at how this state actually structures money around an LLC, because there is not a quarterly anything in it.
- $125, one time. That is the fee to file the Certificate of Formation that brings a New Jersey LLC into existence under N.J.S.A. 42:2C-18. The state assigns no form number to it, whatever a template may tell you.
- $25, only when you use it. The fee to move your registered agent onto a different name. Pay it once and it does not come back until you decide to switch again.
- $75 a year, plus $1 or $3. The annual report, due the last day of your formation anniversary month, filed through the Treasury's portal and nowhere else, with the surcharge depending on whether you pay by eCheck or card.
Total the government's side across a company's first full year and you land around $200 for formation and the first report. One year of Swyft's agent service, at roughly $596, is about triple that, and it repeats.
The New Jersey Paperwork That Ends a Swyft Filings Appointment
One $25 certificate of change, filed with the Treasury's business filings division, DORES, either on paper or through the state's online amendments service; the fields, the entity ID, and the confirmation step are all covered on our registered agent change page.
What that page also says, and what belongs here too, is that the new appointment goes in before the old one gets cancelled. Swyft stays the agent of record until New Jersey processes your filing, so a company that files first and cancels second is covered continuously, while one that cancels first has invented a gap the state never asked it to accept.
Our Side of the Comparison
- $99 a year, flat, with a renewal invoice that matches the first one
- A New Jersey street address of ours standing in for yours on the public record
- Anything served on us scanned that same business day and waiting in your portal
- Non-legal correspondence forwarded on request for $15 an item, printed here rather than quoted later
- Alerts before your report month closes, based on the month the state has for you
One Bill a Year Is the Point
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereFour invoices for one address is a lot of administration attached to a small job. New Jersey does not work that way, and neither do we. If the annualized number was the thing you had not run yet, you have run it now.
